(SERBIA) Mentor Memeti (left side standing up) one and a half year before he was killed when he picked up two duds from cluster bombs. Mentor (b. 1984) was on the way home to the village of Strezovce on July 29, 1999 after he and his friends had been bathing in the Bustranje Lake that day. When they passed through Bustranje village Mentor saw several yellow objects resembling beer cans lying on the ground. He was curious to find out what they were. He picked two of them up and slammed them into each other. The bombs exploded simultaneously, killing Mentor and injuring his friends, Ridvan Haziri (b. 1982) and Driton and Ardian Aliu (b.1987). Driton Aliu had to have both of his legs amputated. (Photo: Private)
